Mouloudia Club of Algiers prioritizes renewal with new contracts and strategic recruitment

Mouloudia Club of Algiers (MCA) has launched an ambitious renewal strategy, focusing on strengthening and rejuvenating its teams across all disciplines for the upcoming season. The club’s management is placing high emphasis on retaining only high-performing athletes while strategically recruiting new talent to reinforce key areas, demonstrating a commitment to long-term development.

MCA President Mohamed Khaldi recently confirmed the club’s approach, emphasizing that only athletes who delivered notable performances and secured titles in the previous season will be retained.

In a recent statement, Khaldi explained, “Several judokas under contract with the previous administration did not fulfill their commitments, leading to the decision not to renew their contracts.”

The move, he highlighted, aligns with MCA’s broader aim of building teams with a younger, committed core that can achieve both immediate and long-term goals.

Khaldi reiterated that the club is moving away from spending large sums on underperforming athletes, a practice he believes has hampered the MCA’s growth in recent years.

In a significant step forward, Walid Bidani, the African weightlifting champion, has renewed his contract with MCA.

His decision to stay with the club follows a successful negotiation with Khaldi, securing Bidani’s involvement in the club’s revamped strategy.

The renewal process continues, with a number of athletes from both team and individual sports expected to finalize their contracts within the deadlines set by the club’s administration.

Meanwhile, MCA’s recruitment drive has brought several new talents on board, reinforcing its commitment to build strong, competitive squads.

Among recent acquisitions are cyclists Oussama Cheblaoui and Abderaouf Gayou, both internationals, who signed with the club last Sunday.

The cyclists were welcomed by MCA officials, including the team coach, section manager, and Khaldi himself, in a clear display of the club’s investment in the cycling division, which has also recently welcomed talents like Salah Shiri, Kezouh, Hichem Tamazourt, Mansouri, and Lakehal.

MCA’s basketball team is similarly undergoing a strategic recruitment phase, initially aiming to bring in only a limited number of new players but now revisiting this plan to address identified gaps in the squad.

Habib Bouchaïb’s recent signing marks the beginning of these reinforcements, with additional players expected to join soon.

The club’s approach emphasizes developing sustainable teams rather than chasing immediate victories, reflecting a philosophy that prioritizes resilience and training over short-term gains.

The ongoing renewal project at MCA underscores a commitment to set up well-rounded, competitive teams equipped for future success.

The strategy does not solely focus on results but seeks to establish a sustainable framework for talent development, benefitting from the contributions of financial partners in realizing the club’s long-term vision.

Through a balanced blend of internal development and selective recruitment, MCA is positioning itself for a promising future in Algerian and African sports.
