Zamalek winger Mostafa Shalaby has issued a public apology to head coach José Peseiro after his reaction to being substituted in the team’s 2-1 victory over Modern Sport.
Shalaby expressed frustration when he was taken off during the match, a decision that ultimately led to disciplinary action, including his omission from the highly anticipated derby against Al Ahly.
With Zamalek set to host their fierce rivals at Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday in the first round of the Egyptian League coronation group, Shalaby took to Facebook to address the situation.
“First, I apologize for my reaction during the Modern Sport match and accept any decision or punishment against me,” Shalaby wrote.
He emphasized his commitment to the club, stating, “The name of Zamalek is a great honor for anyone associated with it. In my three years here, I have never caused any issues and have always shown respect to everyone.”
The winger attributed his outburst to emotions running high during the game but made it clear he remains fully dedicated to the club.
