Mortada Mansour believes removing Hussein Labib’s administration is the first move to restore Zamalek’s lost glory.
The former Zamalek president shared his stance after being contacted by Egypt’s Youth and Sports Minister, Ashraf Sobhy, who urged him to help ease tensions at the troubled club.
Mansour shared the update in a Facebook post, stating: “Yesterday Tuesday, Dr Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, contacted me and I keep to myself the details of the conversation because it is not for publication.”
He also revealed outreach from Ayman Younis, who suggested a meeting at his home with members of the current council.
“Ayman Younis assured me that the meeting will see the presence of some of the club’s symbols to find solutions to the violent crises that the Whites are going through and have sparked the anger of millions of fans and members of the general assembly,” Mansour added.
Despite appreciating fans and club members, he made it clear he would not meet with those he believes are destroying the club.
