The Moroccan women’s national football team dubbed the “Atlas Lionesses,” is gearing up for a crucial encounter against Tunisia In a bid to secure their place in the final round of qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Speaking to reporters in Rabat, national team coach Jorge Vilda expressed the team’s ambition to overcome the Tunisian squad and advance to the final round of qualifications.
“Our goal is to surpass the Tunisian team and reach the last and decisive stage of the Olympic qualifiers,” Vilda stated following a training session at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
Having secured a 2-1 victory over Tunisia in the away leg, the Atlas Lionesses are determined to maintain their positive momentum and secure qualification in the return fixture.
“We understand that the upcoming match will be challenging, but our objective remains clear: to achieve victory and make the Moroccan fans proud,” emphasized player Sakina Ouzraoui El Dicki.
Preparations for the crucial encounter have focused on both motivational and tactical aspects, with the players fully committed to overcoming this hurdle and progressing to the final stage of qualifications.
Echoing this sentiment, Ines Kaddi, who plays for Olympique de Marseille, emphasized the team’s determination to reach the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The return fixture between the two teams will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat on Wednesday evening.
