Anass Salah-Eddine set for Roma return as PSV transfer talks stall
Morocco international Anass Salah-Eddine could be heading back to Roma this summer after negotiations between the Italian club and PSV Eindhoven reportedly hit a stumbling block.
The Dutch champions had hoped to secure the left back on a permanent deal following an impressive loan spell, but reports indicate that both clubs have yet to find common ground on a transfer fee.
Strong Impact During Loan Spell
Salah-Eddine joined Roma from FC Twente in January 2025 before being sent to PSV on loan in search of regular first-team football. The move proved beneficial for both the player and the Eredivisie side.
During his time in Eindhoven, the 24 year old featured in 25 matches across all competitions. His appearances included 17 league games and seven outings in the UEFA Champions League, while he also contributed a goal.
His consistent performances throughout the campaign further enhanced his reputation and helped strengthen his case for international selection.
World Cup Opportunity with Morocco
The defender’s impressive form earned him a place in Morocco’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Having previously represented the Netherlands at youth level, Salah-Eddine opted to switch his international allegiance and commit to the Atlas Lions at senior level.
He is set to be part of Morocco’s campaign in Group C, where they will take on Brazil, Haiti and Scotland in the tournament’s opening phase.
Roma Standing Firm on Valuation
Although PSV remain interested in retaining the defender, Roma are reportedly unconvinced by the offers presented so far. The Serie A club invested approximately €8.5 million to sign him from FC Twente and still view him as a player with significant long-term potential.
As a result, a return to the Italian capital currently appears to be the most likely outcome. Roma are expected to assess his role during pre-season preparations before deciding on his future.
With a productive season behind him and a World Cup appearance on the horizon, Salah-Eddine’s stock continues to rise, making him one of Morocco’s most intriguing talents to follow during the summer transfer window.
