Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly extended the contract of Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi until June 2029.
The deal, which has been in place since August under the direction of PSG’s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, replaces Hakimi’s previous contract, which was set to expire in 2026.
The new deal which is all set for announcement is expected to confirm all details, including salary agreements.
Hakimi has solidified his place as a key figure at PSG since joining the club. For the fourth consecutive season, the 25-year-old has been instrumental in the team’s performances. His impact on and off the pitch earned him the role of vice-captain this season.
Satisfied with his consistent displays, PSG has demonstrated its commitment to the defender by extending his stay in Paris. This season, Hakimi has already made 13 appearances, contributing 2 goals and 3 assists.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the extension, emphasising PSG’s confidence in Hakimi’s value to the team. The new contract ensures that the Moroccan international will remain at the Parc des Princes for the long term.
In addition to Hakimi’s contract extension, reports indicate that PSG is preparing a significant bid for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, further underlining the club’s ambitions to bolster its squad.
