AFC Bournemouth are on the verge of securing the services of Morocco international Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen, with the player reportedly having already reached an agreement with the Premier League side.

Negotiations between Bournemouth and Leverkusen are understood to be at an advanced stage, with the transfer expected to be finalised in the coming days.

The 25-year-old winger, who began his professional career at Toulouse before moving to Germany in 2021, has expressed a desire for a fresh challenge this summer.

During his spell in the Bundesliga, Adli registered an impressive 23 goals and 24 assists across 142 appearances for Leverkusen.

Adli’s opportunities last season were limited after he suffered a broken fibula, and competition for attacking positions intensified following the €12 million signing of Ernest Poku.

Bournemouth have reportedly beaten Sunderland to Adli’s signature, despite interest from Wolves and Marseille. Leverkusen were said to have valued the player at around €30 million.

Meanwhile, the Bundesliga side are actively pursuing further attacking reinforcements, including Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte and Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, signings that could have further restricted Adli’s playing time.
