Morocco win race for Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi ahead of France
Morocco have secured a major international boost after highly-rated Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi reportedly decided to represent the Atlas Lions ahead of France at senior level.
The talented youngster, regarded as one of the brightest prospects in European football, had been attracting attention over his international future amid interest from both Morocco and France.
Reports earlier suggested that Bouaddi would not be included in France’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, opening the door for Morocco to make their move for the Lille sensation.
The decision is seen as a huge statement by Morocco as they continue to strengthen their national team with top young talents playing across Europe.
Bouaddi has impressed with his performances for LOSC Lille and is already being monitored by several major European clubs despite his young age.
The midfielder is now expected to be included in Morocco’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the North African giants look to build on their recent success on the international stage.
