Morocco will host the BEST AFCON in history, says FIFA boss Gianni Infantino

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has praised Morocco for its remarkable progress in football development during his first visit to the newly inaugurated FIFA regional headquarters in the Kingdom, the first of its kind in an African and Arab country.

Speaking to Radio Mars, Infantino said he was “amazed” by the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment he witnessed firsthand.

“Morocco amazes and impresses us with every visit. It is truly a source of pride for its continent, and the success and quality of the events it will host are guaranteed,” he said.

Referring to the upcoming tournaments, the FIFA chief added, “Let me convey my feelings to you: Morocco will present a great Africa Cup of Nations to the world and its continent.

“I have closely observed every detail being accomplished here, and I have no doubt that it will be the best edition in history.”

The opening of the new headquarters marks a strategic milestone for FIFA as it seeks to strengthen its presence in Africa, reflecting the organisation’s confidence in Morocco’s ability to host major international events.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to kick off in December later this year and will be hosted across nine stadia.
