Morocco has been named the most valuable national football team in the Arab world, according to a new ranking by Forbes.
The publication revealed that five Arab teams are among the world’s top 64 most valuable national squads, with the Atlas Lions leading the regional pack and placing 14th globally.
With a total market value of $432.5 million, Morocco’s rise reflects its recent footballing success, most notably, its historic fourth-place finish at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“Ranked first in Africa according to the FIFA Men’s World Ranking as of April 3, 2025, the Atlas Lions are gearing up to host the Africa Cup of Nations at the end of the year, with sights set on claiming their second continental title,” Forbes said.
The report also highlighted Morocco’s long-term football ambitions, particularly its role as a co-host of the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
The ranking comes on the heels of another Forbes feature, which placed Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi as the most valuable Arab footballer.
Valued at $93.6 million, Hakimi remains the most prized asset in Morocco’s squad.
Following Morocco on the Arab national team value list are Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates.
