The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) officially awarded Morocco the honor of hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup for under-17s for five consecutive years.
In a statement released on Thursday, FIFA declared, “It is officially announced that Morocco will host the Under-17 Women’s World Cup for five consecutive years.”
The inaugural edition is set to kick off in 2025, featuring 24 teams, with Morocco concluding its hosting duties for this tournament in 2029.
Meanwhile, Qatar will host the men’s edition for the same age group until 2029.
FIFA emphasized that the allocation of these global competitions to Morocco and Qatar “comes as a result of great interest from many local federations to further invest in both tournaments, with a focus on utilizing the top-notch facilities in Qatar and Morocco to ensure the continuity of both competitions.”
It is worth noting that Morocco is gearing up to host continental and global events, notably the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, in addition to bidding for the 2030 World Cup jointly with Spain and Portugal.
