Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi has been named the best right-back in France, earning a spot in the 2024-25 Ligue 1 Team of the Season.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender was one of nine PSG players honoured at the French Professional Footballers’ Association awards held on Sunday.
Hakimi was joined in the prestigious XI by PSG teammates Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho, Vitinha, Joao Neves, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Desire Doue.
The only non-PSG players to make the team were Lille’s goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier and Lyon’s Rayan Cherki.
The 24-year-old played a vital role in PSG’s title-winning campaign, helping them secure the Ligue 1 crown with six games to spare.
He also contributed to Luis Enrique’s side reaching the Champions League final, where they will face his former club, Inter Milan.
Since joining PSG from Inter Milan in 2021, Hakimi has firmly established himself as a key player at right-back, making 45 appearances this season, scoring seven goals, and providing 14 assists.
In addition, PSG has secured Hakimi’s services with a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The deal, announced last February, reportedly makes him the highest-paid right-back in world football, with earnings of €14 million per season.
