Morocco has solidified their position as the most successful country in the CAF Confederation Cup following RS Berkane’s latest triumph.
The Orange Boys clinched the trophy after holding Simba SC to a 1-1 draw in the second leg tie on Sunday at the Amaan Stadium, completing a 3-1 aggregate win.
Berkane now joins Tunisian side CS Sfaxien as the record winners of the Confederation Cup (three titles). The Moroccan outfit secured their first Confederation Cup title in 2020 before clinching it for the second time in 2022.
Simba were chasing their first ever Confederation Cup title but it did not materialize after falling to Berkane.
With seven titles from five different clubs, Morocco remains the most successful country in CAF Confederation Cup history.
The North African countries have dominated the Confederation Cup in the last seven seasons, winning all titles. Meanwhile, the last sub-Saharan winner was TP Mazembe in 2017.
