The Moroccan National Tourist Office has signed a strategic agreement with the leading travel and tour organization group “Wakanow,” based in Nigeria, which is one of the foremost groups in organizing trips and tours across the African continent.
The office stated that the aim of this agreement is to enhance the attractiveness of Morocco as a destination in African markets, particularly in West Africa, and to increase tourist flows from these emerging and promising markets.
This agreement spans five full years, during which the African group commits to increasing the number of bookings and trips to Morocco.
This strategic partnership gains more significance as Morocco is set to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, a major sporting event for the continent that attracts a significant number of tourists from Africa and the African diaspora in Europe.
Regarding the current year, an agreement has been reached between the two parties to attract 5,000 tourists from Nigeria for the summer season of 2024.
By the year 2029, the same group aims to achieve approximately 66,000 bookings for Morocco.
To achieve this goal, both the Moroccan National Tourist Office and Wakanow have agreed to conduct an intensive promotional campaign in the region.
It is worth noting that Wakanow, the travel and tour organization group, boasts a network of 47 travel agencies distributed across Africa, including 237 travel agents, in addition to a call center with 160 employees.
