AS Roma’s Mehdi Benatia secured the top spot with 71 points in the poll, surpassing international Paralympic champion El Amine Chentouf (17 points), who won gold in the 5,000m and 10,000m (T12) events, setting a new record in the 10,000m world championship last July in Lyon, France. Kickboxing world champion Badr Hari claimed the third position with 12 points.
In the women’s category, golfer Maha Haddioui earned 35 points for her notable participation in golf tournaments. She outpaced athlete Ghizlane Siba (32 points), cadet champion and bronze medalist in the high jump event during the cadet world championship. Third place was awarded to Najat El Garâa (22 points), the Paralympic champion in shot put.
Among the coaches, Hassan Benabicha received the award for guiding the A’ selection to third place during the Francophonie Games (Final in Nice, France), victory in the Mediterranean Games (Mersin, Turkey), and a semi-final position in the Games of the Islamic Solidarity (Indonesia).
M’hamed Fakhir claimed the second spot, recognized as the most successful coach nationally, followed by Algeria’s Abdehaq Benchikha, coach of Difaâ Hassani of El Jadida, winners of the Throne Cup in the 2013-2014 season.
