The future of Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou at Saudi giants Al Hilal remains uncertain as the club edges closer to appointing Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, sparking speculation about upcoming squad changes.
According to multiple reports, Inzaghi has expressed to Al Hilal’s management his desire to implement technical adjustments, potentially including a change in the goalkeeping department.
Despite these rumors, sources indicate that current negotiations between the club and Inzaghi have not specifically addressed Bounou’s role. Contrary to recent speculation suggesting the Moroccan international could be dropped, club officials reportedly still value him highly.
Al Hilal management continues to view Bounou as a key part of the starting lineup and currently has no plans to part ways with him.
“The club is expected to meet with Bounou in the coming weeks to review his contract, which runs until June 30, 2026,” a source told Kooora, adding that an extension may be considered to secure his long-term future with the team.
These developments come as Al Hilal intensifies preparations for the upcoming season, aiming to finalise its coaching staff and solidify technical plans ahead of summer training.
