Soufiane Rahimi climbs Al Ain's scoring chart

Moroccan forward Soufiane Rahimi continues to cement his place among the modern greats of Al Ain after another devastating display in front of goal pushed him further up the club’s all-time scoring rankings.

The 28-year-old striker delivered yet another statement performance with a brace in Al Ain’s emphatic 5–0 victory over Al Dhafra FC in the penultimate round of the UAE Pro League season. The two goals lifted Rahimi’s league tally to 46 since arriving in the UAE in 2021, moving him into seventh place on Al Ain’s all-time top scorers list in league competition.

It is a remarkable rise for the Moroccan international, whose impact at the club has grown season after season. In just a short period, Rahimi has overtaken several notable names in Al Ain’s history, including club icon Omar Abdulrahman, famously known as “Amouri,” as well as Saif Sultan.

His rapid climb through the rankings highlights not only his clinical finishing ability, but also his remarkable consistency in a league that has traditionally featured elite attacking talent from across the world.

Since joining Al Ain, Rahimi has established himself as one of the club’s most dependable attacking weapons. Whether in domestic competition or continental tournaments, the Moroccan star has repeatedly delivered in decisive moments, becoming a central figure in the team’s offensive structure.

What has elevated Rahimi’s status even further is his ability to shine on the biggest stages. He played a defining role in Al Ain’s triumphant 2023–2024 AFC Champions League campaign, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with 13 goals. His outstanding performances throughout the competition earned him the AFC Champions League Best Player award and significantly enhanced his reputation across Asian football.

That continental success transformed Rahimi from a prolific league forward into one of the most influential players in the club’s recent history. Supporters increasingly view him as more than just a successful foreign signing; he has become a symbol of Al Ain’s modern ambitions and attacking identity.

Rahimi’s versatility, intelligent movement and composure in front of goal have allowed him to adapt seamlessly to different tactical demands, while his consistency has made him indispensable to the club.

With 46 league goals now to his name, the Moroccan forward is also edging closer to further milestones. He sits just seven goals behind Salem Johar, who currently occupies sixth place with 53 goals. At the summit of the rankings remains prolific Togolese striker Laba Kodjo, whose scoring record continues to define the standard for Al Ain forwards.

As the season nears its conclusion, growing attention is turning toward how high Rahimi can climb in the club’s historical rankings. Given his current form and influence, few would bet against him continuing his ascent.

For Al Ain, Rahimi’s goals have become synonymous with stability, ambition and success. For the player himself, this latest milestone is another chapter in a remarkable journey that continues to elevate his standing among the most impactful African footballers currently playing in Asia.
