Morocco forward Ayoub El Kaabi ranked among top 10 highest scorers globally
Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi has cemented his place among the world’s elite forwards, securing ninth spot in the latest IFFHS rankings of the top international goalscorers of the 21st century, having netted 50 goals by the end of 2025.
The International Federation of Football History & Statistics based its assessment on goals scored between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2025, in national team matches and continental or international club competitions recognized by FIFA and continental federations, excluding domestic league goals.
El Kaabi’s 50-goal haul is split between 29 strikes in continental club tournaments and 21 goals for the Morocco national football team, underlining his consistency and impact at both club and international level.
The Moroccan striker joins a list of global heavyweights, including Norway’s Erling Haaland, who leads with 91 goals, followed by France’s Kylian Mbappé with 85 and England’s Harry Kane with 82. The list also features iconic names such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robert Lewandowski.
El Kaabi’s presence in the top 10, ahead of several prominent European stars, reflects his remarkable efficiency and reliability in front of goal. His performances for both club and the Atlas Lions have established him as one of the most decisive attacking players of recent years.
With a strong scoring record across major competitions, El Kaabi is expected to continue climbing the ranks, further enhancing his reputation and challenging the world’s leading forwards in the years to come.
