Morocco beat Lesotho 2-0 to make it two wins from two in Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying

Morocco continued their strong start to the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Lesotho.

The Atlas Lions created several chances early on but had to wait until the final minute of the first half to break the deadlock. Brahim Diaz took advantage of a promising opening and finished with his left foot to give Walid Regragui’s side a 1-0 lead at the interval.

Morocco maintained the pressure after the restart, although they were unable to add to their advantage immediately. Diaz missed the opportunity to extend the lead from the penalty spot in the 64th minute.

Azzedine Ounahi also came close in the 79th minute, but his effort was kept out by the Lesotho goalkeeper.

The midfielder made amends three minutes later, scoring Morocco’s second goal with a right-footed finish after being set up by Soufiane Rahimi.

Lesotho attempted to respond in the closing stages, but Morocco held firm to secure the win. The result gives the Atlas Lions two victories from two matches in the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers.
