João Sacramento has expressed admiration for the Morocco national football team following his first training camp experience with the side, describing it as both inspiring and deeply enriching.

The Portuguese assistant coach shared his reflections in an Instagram post on Wednesday after joining the team’s preparations ahead of upcoming fixtures. According to him, the camp went beyond routine training, offering a deeper connection to the team’s identity and spirit.

“These first few days have been so much more than just a camp, a true immersion in a rare culture, energy, and passion,” he said.

The training camp provided an opportunity for the newly assembled technical team to assess players and strengthen cohesion within the squad as they build towards future competitions.

Sacramento did not hold back in praising the team, highlighting their dedication and the emotional connection they bring to the game.

“Here, football isn’t just played… it’s lived, felt, and defended with heart,” he said.

“I discovered a talented, committed, humble group, deeply attached to its values. It’s an immense source of pride to share the pitch with them.”

The 37-year-old coach officially joined the Moroccan setup last month, taking up the role of first assistant under head coach Mohamed Ouahbi.

Over the years, Sacramento has built a strong reputation working alongside some of football’s most respected managers. He previously collaborated with Christophe Galtier at Paris Saint-Germain and Lille OSC, playing a key role in shaping competitive squads in Ligue 1.

He also gained valuable experience under José Mourinho during spells at AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur before embracing his latest challenge with the Moroccan national team.

With just two months remaining before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Sacramento appears poised to play a key role as Morocco prepares to make another strong impression on the global stage.
