Morocco and Guinea Bissau are poised to make history as the first teams to arrive in Ivory Coast for the continental football extravaganza.

The strategic arrivals are scheduled for Sunday, January 7, 2024, underscoring a pivotal milestone in the lead-up to the tournament’s kickoff.

Following closely, the reigning African champions, Senegal, are set to touch down on Ivorian soil on Tuesday, January 9, adding to the mounting excitement surrounding the prestigious competition.

Morocco, quarter-finalists in the previous edition hosted by Cameroon, enters Group F alongside the formidable DR Congo, two-time champions Zambia, and the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

As they embark on their 19th appearance in the AFCON, the Atlas Lions aim to capitalize on their rich footballing history, with their eyes firmly set on championship glory.

Guinea Bissau, on the other hand, is set to face host nation Cote d’Ivoire in the tournament opener at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe on January 13, 2024. Placed in Group A alongside three-time winners Nigeria and other contenders, Guinea Bissau seeks to leave an indelible mark on the AFCON stage.

As the countdown continues, the arrival of Tanzania is anticipated on Monday, January 8, flying in from Dar es Salaam.

Following suit on Tuesday, January 9, will be the defending champions, Senegal, arriving in Abidjan with aspirations of a successful title defense after their triumph in Cameroon two years ago.

Additionally, the prestigious AFCON event will welcome the record seven-time winners, Egypt, along with Mozambique on the same day.
