Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri has firmly established himself as one of the world’s most prolific players in 2025, claiming the title of top scorer for the year.
After a period of adaptation, the Fenerbahçe forward has found his rhythm and is now leading the charge in the 2025 goal-scoring race.
En-Nesyri, who made the move to Fenerbahçe last summer from Sevilla, struggled to secure a starting position at the beginning of the season.
However, after a slow start, the 27-year-old has transformed into one of the most lethal strikers in Europe.
Under the guidance of manager José Mourinho, En-Nesyri has enjoyed a resurgence, particularly towards the end of 2024 and into the new year.
The Moroccan international, who has earned 78 caps and scored 23 goals for his country, has been in scintillating form in 2025.
Since January 1st, he has netted 11 goals in just 9 matches, including four doubles, positioning him as the top scorer of the year alongside French forward Ousmane Dembélé, who reached the same goal tally in just six matches with PSG.
En-Nesyri’s most recent impressive performance came in the Turkish Cup against Erzurumspor, where he scored two goals in just eight minutes, propelling Fenerbahçe to a resounding 5-0 victory.
In the 81st minute, he took advantage of a well-timed through ball, calmly dribbling around the goalkeeper to score into an empty net.
He completed his brace just minutes later, finishing a precise assist with a composed strike into the same empty goal.
With 20 goals and 4 assists from 33 appearances across all competitions, En-Nesyri’s form has been a major boost for Fenerbahçe.
His blistering pace and sharp finishing have brought renewed hope to the Turkish giants as they push for domestic success.
For Morocco, En-Nesyri’s form is also a positive sign ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
With the Atlas Lions’ next matches against Niger and Tanzania in March, En-Nesyri’s goalscoring streak will be crucial in their bid to secure qualification for the global tournament.
27-year-old’s continued excellence on the international stage will be key to Morocco’s success as they prepare for the next phase of World Cup qualification.
