Moroccan winger Amine Adli joins Bournemouth on five-year deal
Amine Adli has completed a move from Bayer Leverkusen to AFC Bournemouth, signing a five-year contract with the Premier League club.
The Moroccan international, 25, becomes one of the most significant arrivals for the Cherries during the current transfer window.
Bournemouth confirmed the deal on Thursday, hailing the signing as a major addition to their attacking options. The club has long sought a winger capable of bringing pace, flair and unpredictability in the final third, and they believe Adli fits that profile.
In their official announcement, Bournemouth described him as “a talented player who has proven himself at the highest level and will add great value to our squad.”
Adli’s arrival follows an impressive spell in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen. Last season, under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, he emerged as one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga.
The winger netted nine goals in 29 league appearances, playing a central role in Leverkusen’s double-winning campaign, which saw them lift both the Bundesliga title and the German Cup. His contributions also extended to Europe, where he featured prominently in their journey to the Europa League final.
The signing underscores Bournemouth’s ambition to strengthen with proven quality. Tiago Pinto, the club’s president of football operations, expressed delight at securing Adli’s services, calling the transfer “a major step for the club.” He added: “We are thrilled to welcome Amine to Bournemouth.
His experience in European competitions, coupled with his ability to impact games with creativity and determination, makes him a vital addition to our squad. His ambitions align with our vision of taking the club forward.”
Pinto, who previously held a key role at AS Roma, stressed that Bournemouth’s strategy is not just about survival in the Premier League but also about building a side capable of competing with established clubs.
Adli’s signing is seen as an investment in both present quality and future growth, with the winger expected to play a crucial role in shaping the team’s attacking identity.
For Adli, the move represents a fresh challenge and a chance to showcase his talent on one of football’s biggest stages. Speaking shortly after completing the transfer, he shared his excitement at joining Bournemouth.
“I am very proud to be part of this club,” he said. “From the first moment, I felt this was the right place for me. The facilities, the environment and the welcome I have received all made me certain about this decision.
The people here have given me a lot of confidence, and I can’t wait to start this new chapter.”
Adli’s comments reflect his enthusiasm for adapting to the Premier League’s intensity and physicality. His style, defined by pace, close control and an eye for goal, is expected to bring an extra dimension to Bournemouth’s frontline.
With the season ahead, the Moroccan international will be counted on to inject energy, creativity and European pedigree into Andoni Iraola’s side. Bournemouth hope that his presence not only strengthens their immediate prospects but also signals a long-term commitment to growth, ambition and stability in the Premier League.
