Moroccan striker Zachary Hadji has officially signed for Bahraini side Al Najma Club, ending his spell with Luxembourg’s FC UNA Strassen following an amicable termination of his contract.
The 28-year-old forward, who was a free agent after parting ways with the Luxembourg outfit, has agreed a deal worth an estimated annual salary of $300,000 (€256,500), according to sources close to the negotiations.
Hadji, son of Moroccan football legend Mustapha Hadji, has carved out a reputation as a prolific goalscorer during a career spanning multiple countries.
His most remarkable spell came in 2021 with CS Fola Esch, when he clinched the Luxembourg league’s Golden Boot after scoring an outstanding 33 goals in a single season.
Earlier this year, he joined FC UNA Strassen, where a string of decisive performances quickly drew interest from clubs in Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
His form ultimately persuaded Al Najma to bring him to Manama as part of their bid to strengthen their attacking options.
Hadji’s career has been defined by its breadth and adaptability.
He has played in France (FC Metz B, SR Creutzwald), Spain (CF Gavà), Germany (SV Röchling Völklingen), Luxembourg (CS Fola Esch, FC UNA Strassen), and Switzerland (Stade Lausanne-Ouchy, Neuchâtel Xamax).
This diverse experience has helped shape him into a versatile and complete forward, capable of adapting to a variety of tactical systems and competitive environments.
Joining Al Najma represents the latest chapter for a player who has embraced the life of a football globetrotter.
The Bahraini club, based in the capital Manama, has been active in the transfer market as it looks to compete more strongly on both domestic and regional fronts.
Hadji’s proven finishing ability and wealth of experience are expected to make him a central figure in their attacking plans.
The move offers Hadji both a fresh challenge and the opportunity to leave his mark in a new footballing landscape.
For Al Najma, the signing signals ambition — a clear intent to enhance their squad with players capable of delivering immediate impact.
As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on how quickly Hadji can settle into his new surroundings and replicate the goal-scoring prowess that has defined much of his career.
If he does, Al Najma could have secured one of the most decisive signings of their campaign.
