Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi vows to reach new heights despite stellar PSG season

Achraf Hakimi: PSG's dynamic full-back poised for crucial role in Champions League semi-final

Achraf Hakimi insists there is still more to come from him, despite enjoying one of his most accomplished seasons since joining Paris Saint-Germain.

The Moroccan international has featured 38 times for PSG across all competitions this term, finding the net five times and playing a crucial role in Luis Enrique’s dynamic system.

A vital figure both defensively and offensively, Hakimi has cemented his place as one of the most influential right-backs in European football.

But in typical fashion, the 25-year-old remains grounded. Speaking in an interview reported by Foot Mercato, the Atlas Lion reflected on his season with maturity and self-awareness.

“I don’t know if this is my best season,” Hakimi admitted. “I think I’m going through an important period in my life, and I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished so far.

But I know I can still improve. My potential is enormous, and I’m going to keep working to be an even better version of myself.”

Since arriving at the Parc des Princes in 2021 from Inter Milan, Hakimi has seamlessly adapted to life in the French capital.

His explosive pace, positional intelligence, and relentless drive have made him a fan favourite in Paris, while his ability to contribute in both halves of the pitch has made him an indispensable part of Enrique’s tactical plans.

This season, Hakimi has demonstrated remarkable consistency, combining defensive discipline with incisive attacking contributions.

Whether surging down the flank to deliver a cross or recovering quickly to break down opposition play, the Moroccan’s influence is evident in every phase of PSG’s game.

Despite his obvious success, Hakimi is driven by a desire to continually evolve. His comments underline a hunger that has been central to his rise, first as a young talent at Real Madrid, and later as a star performer at Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.

At PSG, Hakimi has not only developed his game technically but also matured mentally, embracing the pressure and expectations that come with representing one of Europe’s elite clubs.

His humility and focus have resonated with teammates and fans alike, and he remains a figure of inspiration for aspiring footballers across the African continent.

While he is already delivering at a high level, Hakimi believes he has not yet reached his peak—and that mentality is precisely what keeps him climbing.

His ambitions are clear: to enhance his performance, elevate the team, and continue competing with the very best in world football.

As PSG chase silverware on multiple fronts, Hakimi’s influence could prove decisive. And if his words are anything to go by, the Moroccan defender is not content with merely shining—he’s aiming to redefine his own limits.
