Moroccan football has been rocked by allegations of match-fixing in one of last season’s professional league matches.
According to media sources, the Ethics Committee recently heard from four referees, including two suspended referees, regarding a match-fixing case from last season’s league championship.
The match in question took place last season in Casablanca and was officiated by a referee who had previously officiated in the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast.
Furthermore, a voice message allegedly attributed to a Moroccan referee surfaced, discussing favoritism towards a particular club by canceling a goal and awarding a penalty during last season’s championship.
While these allegations have been widely circulated by various national and international media outlets, the Refereeing Directorate has remained silent, refraining from issuing any clarifying statement to confirm or deny the reports.
