Moroccan professional league moves to amend football coaches law

The Moroccan National Professional Football League is reportedly on the verge of amending the law regulating the status of coaches in the professional league, according to informed sources.

The same sources explained that several coaches are awaiting an amendment to the clause that currently prohibits any coach from the first professional division, who has been dismissed, resigned, or stepped down for any reason, from coaching another team in the same division during the season.

They would be compelled to coach a team in lower divisions or wait until the end of the sports season to return to the first professional division to continue working.

The same source indicated that the current direction of the Professional League is to allow coaches in the first professional division to undertake two experiences during the same season, and three experiences in the second professional division, while it is expected that coaches will be allowed to work in amateur divisions without restrictions.

It is worth mentioning that the decision not to allow separated coaches from their teams to coach other teams from the same league has been implemented in Morocco for years, leaving many coaches unemployed.

The possibility of abolishing it has been discussed on more than one occasion.
