Mohamed Hrimat’s brilliance has been rewarded after the Moroccan midfielder was named Player of the Tournament at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Kenya.
The 31-year-old, who plays for FAR Rabat, was a driving force in Morocco’s successful campaign and played the full 90 minutes in the Atlas Lions’ thrilling 3-2 win over Madagascar in the final.
Mohamed Rabie Hrimat’s calm presence and clever passing gave Morocco balance throughout the tournament. His influence stretched beyond the final, where Oussama Lamlioui’s brace and Youssef Mehri’s opener sealed the country’s third CHAN crown.
He picked up two man of the match awards, first in the group stage win against Angola at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi and later in the quarter-final clash with Tanzania at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Coach Tarik Sektioui trusted Mohamed Hrimat to guide the team in big moments, and the midfielder responded by leading with composure and intelligence.
