Moroccan midfielder Amir Richardson attracts interest from Verona
Hellas Verona are closely monitoring Amir Richardson as the Italian club consider a move to help revive the midfielder’s career.
The Morocco international is currently playing for FC Copenhagen, where he has been on loan since January 2026 from ACF Fiorentina.
The temporary switch was designed to offer him a more stable environment after a challenging period both on and off the pitch.
Recent figures indicate a notable drop in Richardson’s market value, which has fallen from around €9 million to approximately €4.5 million in a short space of time.
This decline has been attributed to reduced playing time and inconsistent appearances during a difficult phase in his career.
According to sources close to the player, the death of his father in November 2025 marked a significant turning point, affecting his rhythm and presence in competitive matches in the months that followed.
His move to Denmark has been part of an effort to gradually rebuild form and confidence. Since joining Copenhagen, Richardson has made nine appearances, accumulating 414 minutes, reflecting a progressive return to regular football.
Despite the downturn in value, interest in the midfielder has not diminished. Several Italian clubs are understood to be tracking his situation, viewing his current circumstances as an opportunity rather than a limitation.
Among them, Verona are particularly attentive, assessing whether his profile could strengthen their midfield options.
The club are seeking players capable of adding physical presence and control in central areas, and Richardson’s attributes are seen as fitting those requirements.
His prior experience in Italy is also considered an advantage, potentially easing adaptation to the league’s tactical demands.
For those close to the player, a return to Italian football could represent a key step in his rebuilding process.
Known for his physicality and ability to recover possession while maintaining composure in distribution, Richardson remains regarded as a promising figure in Moroccan football.
Should Verona formalise their interest, the move could provide the platform he needs to regain consistency and re-establish himself at a higher level.
