Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi escaped unscathed after being involved in a road accident in Athens on Sunday, just a day before Panathinaikos’ crucial Super League semi-final clash against Olympiakos.
Incident details
According to reports from the Greek press, Ounahi was driving when his vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Vouliagmenis Avenue and Zeppou Street in the Greek capital.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the accident resulted only in minor material damage.
Despite the scare, the 24-year-old midfielder did not sustain any harm and is expected to be available for his club’s upcoming fixtures.
Key figure for Panathinaikos
Since joining Panathinaikos on loan last summer, Ounahi has established himself as a vital part of the squad.
The Moroccan playmaker has made 31 appearances, including 21 starts, scoring three goals and providing five assists this season.
His performances have been instrumental in the club’s campaign, making him one of the most influential figures in the Trifýlli squad.
With an option to make his move permanent, Panathinaikos could decide to secure his services beyond this season, though no final decision has been made yet.
Recent international duty
Ounahi remains a key part of Morocco’s national team, having recently featured in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
His consistent displays for both club and country continue to highlight his importance on the international stage.
Despite the unsettling incident, Ounahi is expected to shift his focus back to football as Panathinaikos prepare for a decisive period in their season.
