Moroccan international Ashraf Bencharki, currently playing for Qatar’s Al-Rayyan football team, has expressed a warm welcome to the idea of returning to Egypt’s Zamalek during the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to Egyptian news outlet “Al-Fajr,” journalist Moamen El-Gendy revealed in statements during the radio program “Foul” that Zamalek has initiated contact with Ashraf Bencharki’s brother to negotiate his return to the White Knights.
El-Gendy added that “the Moroccan player has enthusiastically welcomed the prospect of rejoining his former team.”
Furthermore, he stated, “Ashraf Bencharki will officially become a Zamalek player by the end of the current season.”
El-Gendy clarified that the transfer deal for Bencharki would be on a free transfer, sparing the club any additional financial burden.
It is worth noting that Ashraf Bencharki had announced his departure from Zamalek just hours after securing the Egypt Cup in the 2020-2021 season, where Zamalek defeated Al Ahly 2-1 in the final.
