Youssef El Kachati has revealed that his time with Dutch side Telstar has come to an end, with the Moroccan forward confirming that discussions are underway regarding his next move—amid reported interest from Scottish champions Celtic.
The 24-year-old striker played a pivotal role in Telstar’s stunning campaign in the Eerste Divisie, netting 25 goals across 45 appearances.
His prolific form not only led the White Lions to their first promotion to the Eredivisie since 1978 but also caught the attention of several European clubs.
With his contract expiring this summer, El Kachati made it clear that he has played his final match in a Telstar shirt.
Speaking to Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur, he confirmed, “I knew this would be my last game in a Telstar shirt. I thought to myself: I’m completely exhausted. Even if they have to stretcher me off the field, so be it.”
The Moroccan international’s strong campaign has made him a sought-after target in the transfer market, and he acknowledged that negotiations with multiple clubs are already underway.
“That’s true. My agents have been in contact with the NEC. With several clubs. I’m going to enjoy this party first,” he added.
Among those reportedly monitoring his situation is Celtic, who are expected to reinforce their attacking options during the summer window.
Brendan Rodgers, looking to guide the Hoops to a fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, is believed to be eyeing El Kachati as a potential addition to a squad aiming to stay ahead of fierce rivals Rangers.
Celtic’s interest would mark a significant step up for El Kachati, who has worked his way through the Dutch football pyramid with grit and consistency.
His recent form suggests he may be ready to test himself on a bigger stage, and a move to Glasgow could offer that opportunity.
While no deal has been confirmed, the striker’s comments leave little doubt about his departure from Telstar.
As he takes time to celebrate the club’s historic promotion, speculation around his next destination continues to grow.
With transfer talks ongoing and interest intensifying, El Kachati’s future could soon take him from the Dutch second tier to the spotlight of Scottish football.
