Tragedy struck the football community as Atletico Libertad, a Spanish amateur football club, announced the tragic death of their Moroccan player, Reda Archad, who was fatally stabbed in the early hours of last Sunday in the Santa Clara neighborhood of Seville.
In a poignant tweet, the official account of the team on platform “X” mourned the loss of the 21-year-old Moroccan, saying, “With deep sorrow, we regret to announce the passing of our great player Reda… A young man with dreams and goals in life, taken from us by a cruel and merciless hand… Rest in peace, my friend, you will be missed.”

Spanish media reports indicated that two 18-year-old Spaniards have been detained on suspicion of involvement in the crime.
Pedro Fernandez, the Spanish government’s delegate in Andalusia, stated, “It seems that there was a previous altercation between the victim and the suspects at a nightclub, which then spilled onto the street, resulting in the young man’s death.”
Investigations into the suspects are ongoing at the police station, with their trial expected to take place in the coming days.
