In a somber announcement on Monday, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) conveyed the news of the passing of former attacking midfielder Abderrahim El Ouakili, a pivotal figure in the Lions of the Atlas during the 1996-1998 period.

Abderrahim El Ouakili, who graced the field ten times while donning the Moroccan jersey, breathed his last on December 18, 2023, at the age of 53, as disclosed by the FRMF.

The FRMF, led by President Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, expressed its profound condolences in an official statement, extending sympathies to the bereaved family of the late Abderrahim El Ouakili.

The statement reads, “The Royal Moroccan Football Federation, represented by its President, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, on his behalf, and on behalf of the administrative office, extends its sincere condolences to the family members of the former Moroccan international, the late Abderrahim El Ouakili, as well as the national football family, in this time of great affliction.”
