Moroccan international, Achraf Hakimi, scored for PSG on Wednesday night, helping the team to beat Arsenal 2-1 in their semi-final second-leg clash in the UEFA Champions League.
The highly-rated right-back started the game at Parc des Princes and lasted the entire duration of the contest.
Playing as the home team, PSG opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Fabian Ruiz capitalised on a rebound and rifled a shot from the edge of the box into the right corner.
The Parisians missed a chance to double their lead in the 69th minute when Vitinha saw his penalty saved brilliantly by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.
Just minutes later, PSG’s persistence paid off. In the 72nd minute, Ousmane Dembélé picked out Hakimi with a clever pass into the box, and the Moroccan defender calmly slotted the ball into the right side of the net to make it 2-0.
Arsenal pulled one back in the 76th minute through Bukayo Saka, who reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and beat the PSG keeper from close range. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late for the Gunners to stage a comeback as the PSG defense held on for the win.
Courtesy of the 2-1 win tonight, PSG are through to the finals of this season’s UEFA Champions League with a 3-1 aggregate win against Arsenal.
Hakimi and his teammates must now prepare to face Italian outfit Inter Milan to fight for the ultimate glory.
