The Moroccan committee for the 2030 World Cup, responsible for the country’s bid preparations, held a meeting in Fez on Tuesday to present the main themes of the International Football Federation’s (FIFA) requirements for hosting the 2030 World Cup.
During this meeting, organized as part of a regional tour involving cities nominated to host matches for the 2030 World Cup, officials from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation reviewed the state of infrastructure, organizational models, and necessary preparations to host this major event.
They focused on three main areas concerning sports infrastructure (stadiums and training facilities), transportation and mobility, as well as accommodation and hotels.
This meeting provided an opportunity to deepen discussions about the projects to be completed and the challenges to be addressed in all strategic areas.
It also involved exchanging views on the requirements that need to be implemented to meet FIFA’s demands.
In addition to the delegation from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation led by the General Coordinator of the Federation, Mouad Haji, the meeting was attended by Saïd Zniber, the Wali of the Fès-Meknes region, the Governor of Fès, representatives from the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Sports, the Municipality of Fès, the company responsible for urban transportation management, as well as professionals from the tourism, commerce, industry, and services sectors.
The FIFA Executive Committee unanimously selected the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid as the sole candidate to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup in October last year.
