The Ethics Committee of the Moroccan Football Federation has handed a six-month suspension to Khalid Bentahar, the president of Maghreb Tanger, following a disciplinary review.
The decision was taken by the committee chaired by Fouzi Lekjaa and communicated in an official statement released by the federation.
According to the statement, “The Ethics Committee decided to punish the president of Maghreb Tanger club with a suspension of 6 months, 3 of which are suspended, and fined him 10,000 dirhams.” The sanction stems from Bentahar’s activity on social media, which reportedly included accusations directed at the regional league covering Tangier, Tetouan, and Al Hoceima.
The federation further clarified the basis for the punishment, stating that “Khaled Bentahar’s punishment came as a result of his posting a message on social media that included accusations against the regional league (Tangier – Tetouan – Al Hoceima).”
In a separate decision, the Ethics Committee also issued a warning to the Anouar Sidi Bennour Association, alongside a fine of 20,000 dirhams.
This sanction followed the publication of posts on the association’s official social media page that were deemed capable of damaging the reputation of the Ittihad Soualem Sports Association.
