Al-Shorta SC has officially welcomed back Egyptian coach Moomen Suleiman as he takes over from Mohamed Abdel-Azim.
Suleiman is no stranger to the Iraqi club, having previously led them to domestic glory in two separate stints—securing a league title in his first tenure and adding both the league and cup titles in his second.
His latest coaching spell was with Al Ahly Benghazi, where he guided the team to second place in the Libyan league before parting ways in early March.
“The return of the achiever to the police house ‘Moomen Suleiman 💚,'” Al-Shorta SC announced on Facebook, signaling their excitement over his return.
Al Ahly Benghazi currently sits in second place with 28 points, trailing the leaders by just two points. Meanwhile, Al-Shorta SC holds third place in the Iraqi league with 47 points from 22 matches, closely chasing Al-Zawra and Zakho, who have played 24 games.
With Suleiman back at the helm, Al-Shorta SC aims to reclaim its dominance in Iraqi football.
