Monza tracking Celtic winger Balikwisha after first-team absence

Michel-Ange Balikwisha, a DR Congo and Belgium national, is the Celtic winger linked with a move to Monza in Serie A.

The 25-year-old left winger joined Celtic from Royal Antwerp on 28 August 2025 in a deal worth €5.2m and has a contract with the Scottish club until 30 June 2030.

Balikwisha has yet to make an appearance for Celtic this season, with the club having played two Scottish Premiership matches and one League Cup fixture by 16 August. He has recorded no goals or assists in those competitions so far.

A move to Monza would see Balikwisha leave Scotland for Italy after one season at Celtic. His previous spell at Royal Antwerp included winning the Belgian title in 2022-23, while Celtic were Scottish champions in 2025-26.

The winger began his senior career at Standard Liege before joining Antwerp in July 2021. He moved through Standard’s youth teams after starting at Anderlecht’s academy.

Balikwisha’s current market value is listed at €3m, below the fee Celtic paid for him last summer. However, any potential transfer would involve a player under contract for almost four more years, with no indication that a move to Monza has been agreed.
