Despite Montpellier’s longstanding interest in Saber Khlifa, the Tunisian striker, it appears that the deal might not materialize. The delay in securing the player is attributed to the club’s excessive financial demands, according to Montpellier’s coach.
Jean Fernandez explained the situation, stating, “With Manu Herrera, I have a support player with his back to goal. We would also need a fast, disruptive attacker capable of going deep. Khlifa, did that almost happen? Exact. The player interested us a lot, the club submitted a very interesting offer to Evian. Not satisfactory in the eyes of managers who are demanding more cash.
