Monaco open contract talks to secure Paris Brunner’s future

AS Monaco have begun discussions with Paris Brunner’s representatives over a new contract after the forward made a strong impression since the start of the season, according to L’Equipe.

The 20-year-old, who joined Monaco from Borussia Dortmund, has quickly settled at the club and earned the approval of the Monaco hierarchy. He is currently under contract until June 2028, but his recent performances have increased his importance to the club’s plans.

Monaco are now seeking to strengthen their position around the Germany international of Congolese origin and prepare for possible interest during future transfer windows.

A specific clause was included in the agreement when Brunner moved from Borussia Dortmund. If another club makes an offer for the player, Monaco must notify the German side.

Borussia Dortmund would then have the option to match the proposal, although they do not hold any preferential right to sign Brunner.

His age and progress have made him a player attracting attention in the transfer market. Transfermarkt currently values him at 15 million euros.

By opening talks over an extension, Monaco hope to provide greater security over Brunner’s future while reinforcing his place in the club’s long-term project.

Monaco will next face Toulouse in their sixth match of the French league season.
