Monaco is gearing up to face Amiens on Sunday as part of the 34th day of Ligue 1, after their Champions League elimination earlier in the week. Although the Monegasques are disappointed by their exit, they are determined to stay focused on the domestic league and secure points for Champions League qualification.
Geoffroy Kondogbia spoke about the challenge:
“We had 48 hours of difficulty to digest because it was still a Champions League quarterfinal, and it’s normal that it stays in our minds. But now, it should not pose problems for the Championship, because if we want to experience this kind of match and emotions again, it will go through the Championship. We have no choice; we have to go and get the victories.”
He also added, “Mathematically, it’s not over. Third place means having one foot in the Champions League. We want to push for that, and who knows, maybe even aim higher. It could go down to the very end.”
With this mindset, Monaco will look to bounce back with a positive result against Lens and remain in the race for Champions League qualification.
