AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter has fueled speculation linking Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani with a move to the Principality this January.
With American-Nigerian striker Folarin Balogun sidelined by a dislocated shoulder and set for a four-month recovery post-surgery, Monaco are in urgent need of firepower up front.
Kolo Muani, 26, has struggled to find favor at PSG, leading to reports that the Ligue 1 champions are open to letting him leave this winter. The French international was notably absent from PSG’s squad during their recent victory over Olympique Lyonnais, adding weight to the transfer rumors.
Hütter addressed the links candidly, admitting Monaco are actively scouting for a striker. “Kolo Muani – it sounds good!” said the German coach. “We have some profiles [in mind]… He is a profile maybe, but there are lots of other things, and for sure he is not the cheapest one.”
As January approaches, all eyes will be on whether Monaco can strike a deal to bring Kolo Muani back into the Ligue 1 spotlight.
