Since his arrival in 2011 from Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Aymen Abdennour swiftly established himself as a formidable, dynamic, and unyielding defender within just one season. The Tunisian international’s stellar performance earned him a transfer to AS Monaco last January, on a loan deal with an option to buy.
However, Abdennour’s journey with his new team has been hindered by an injury, limiting him to just one appearance in their colors. Now, he asserts his readiness to return to action this weekend against Nice.
“Physically, I feel good now, and I’m fully prepared to contribute to the defense and the team as a whole,” he announced confidently during a press conference ahead of the Nice match. “Derbies are always challenging, especially at home, so we must secure a victory for our supporters.”
Expressing his disappointment at missing out on the previous match against Guingamp in the semi-final, Abdennour emphasized the need to move forward: “We’re all disappointed by our Cup elimination, but now our focus is on winning the derby. We stand united, alongside the coach and all the technical staff.”
