West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus played a pivotal role in an early Christmas delight for the Hammers’ faithful, contributing to their impressive 2-0 triumph over Manchester United at London Stadium on Saturday.
The Ghanaian midfielder, who has been in sparkling form, expressed his joy at securing three points for the team and delivering an “amazing Christmas gift” to the fans. Kudus, along with Jarrod Bowen, found the back of the net in quick succession during the second half, securing West Ham’s sixth position in the Premier League standings, at least temporarily.
“Manchester United are a very good team, and everybody gave their best,” Kudus stated in an interview with whufc.com.
“I’m very happy to help the team get the three points. It’s an amazing Christmas gift for the fans, and I hope they enjoyed it.”
Kudus showcased his goal-scoring prowess by netting his sixth Premier League goal of the campaign, displaying composure and skill.
He acknowledged the teamwork and praised Bowen for his consistent goal-scoring contributions.
“That’s what I’m here to do,” Kudus remarked with a smile. “Lucas gave me the ball on the edge of the box, and it was a good goal.”
Reflecting on the challenging match against Manchester United, Kudus credited the defensive discipline and effective counter-attacks that proved crucial in overcoming the Red Devils.
The victory was especially significant for West Ham, bouncing back from a recent Carabao Cup loss at Anfield.
“It was 100 per cent important we bounced back. We learn from the down times and then enjoy the ups.
It was a bad game at Liverpool but it was good to get this win, especially in the last game before Christmas for the fans,” Kudus emphasized.
Acknowledging the fan support, Kudus expressed gratitude and conveyed that his performance in the win was the best gift he could offer.
As West Ham looks forward to the festive season, Kudus’s stellar contributions on the pitch have undoubtedly added an extra layer of joy for the Claret and Blue Army.
