Mohamed Sherif has firmly dismissed claims that he has signed with Zamalek for next season, saying no final decision has been made since his departure from Al-Khaleej.
The 29-year-old striker clarified that while there have been talks between his agent, Sayed Mostafa, and the Cairo club, he hasn’t received a direct offer himself.
In a recent TV interview, Sherif explained he is staying professional and prefers to keep his plans private as the transfer window is still months away. He spoke highly of his relationship with Zamalek planning committee member Ahmed Hossam Mido, but denied rumours of a EGP 50 million contract advance.
Sherif also recalled a failed move to Zamalek back in 2018, which was cancelled after Mohamed Antar was signed instead.
He brushed off comparisons to Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s move to Al Ahly, calling them “illogical,” and noted that player decisions are personal.
Sherif criticised former Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller, blaming his rotation policy for lack of consistency. Despite this, he defended his goal-scoring record and said he outperformed current striker Wissam Abu Ali.
