Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has named his squad ahead 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Guinea Bissau and Burkina Faso next month.
Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah leads the Egyptian set as he has been named among the 25-man squad.
Hassan denied rumours of him having a tussle with the Pharoahs captain as he claimed there were no differences between him and the captain.
Notably missing in the squad is Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who has been snubbed. Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush also missed out as he is set to undergo a hand surgery.
The Pharoahs are paired in Group A with Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Djibouti, and Ethiopia, where they lead the group after two games.
Egypt won 6-0 in the first game at home before winning 2-0 away to Sierra Leone as they lead the standings with 6 points and went on a clean sheet.
The Egyptians, after 28 years, made a much awaited return to the Mundial at Russia 2018 World Cup but subsequently missed out on Qatar 2022 as they lost to Senegal on penalties in the playoff.
