Mohamed Salah commits to Liverpool until 2027: “I’m happy here, I’m enjoying my football”

Mohamed Salah has ended months of speculation over his future by signing a new contract with Liverpool, keeping him at Anfield until 2027.

The Egyptian forward, whose future had been the subject of intense interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and beyond, chose to continue his journey on Merseyside—a decision driven by loyalty, contentment, and belief in the club’s long-term ambitions.

The announcement was confirmed by Liverpool on Friday, though the exact length of the new deal was not disclosed by the club. British media reports suggest the agreement runs until the summer of 2027.

At 32, Salah has opted for continuity over change. In a heartfelt message shared via the club’s media channels, the former Roma and Chelsea winger explained his decision in understated, genuine terms: “I’m enjoying my life here, I’m enjoying my football.”

Salah’s bond with Liverpool runs far deeper than just football. Since his arrival in 2017, the forward has become one of the most iconic players in the club’s history.

With 243 goals and 111 assists in 394 appearances, his influence on Liverpool’s modern era is undeniable. He was instrumental in their Champions League triumph in 2019 and pivotal to their long-awaited Premier League title win in 2020.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Salah said: “I had my best years here.” The numbers back that up, but so too does the unique connection he shares with the Liverpool fanbase.

His relentless work ethic, explosive pace, and clinical finishing have made him a fixture in Anfield folklore.

His decision to remain with the Reds also marks a strong vote of confidence in the direction the club is heading, even as it prepares for life after Jürgen Klopp.

With Arne Slot set to take over managerial duties next season, Salah’s commitment provides a crucial pillar of continuity amid transition.

“If I’m staying, it’s because I believe,” Salah explained. “We have an excellent team. We used to have one too. But today, I believe we can still go for trophies.”

His words speak not only of ambition but of resilience—the kind that has defined his career since his early days in Egypt and his climb through European football.

Offers from Saudi Arabia had reportedly been on the table, with financial terms that could have tempted many.

But for Salah, Liverpool remains more than a stepping stone or a chapter—it is, in his words, home.

With this new contract, Salah is now poised to extend his legacy at Liverpool well into his mid-30s. Whether it’s adding more silverware, mentoring younger talent, or simply continuing to thrill the Kop with his trademark runs and goals, the Egyptian King’s presence ensures that Liverpool’s attack will remain one of the most feared in Europe.

As Liverpool reshapes itself in the post-Klopp era, Salah’s decision to stay sends a clear message: the club’s ambition is undiminished—and its talisman isn’t done writing history yet.
