The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced through its official social media channels the appointment of Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan as its official ambassador.
The same page shared a photo of the Egyptian actor accompanied by a caption that read: “We are pleased to announce the new ambassador of CAF.”
It is worth mentioning that Mohamed Ramadan performed the official song for the African Cup of Nations tournament in the previous January, alongside Nigerian singer Yemi Alade and Ivorian singer Asalfo Magic System.
Regarding this, Ramadan stated that he is extremely proud to represent Egypt on a grand continental stage. He emphasized that football unites people, much like art does.
He also mentioned that he recently collaborated with a leading American music company on a song, through which he received an invitation to attend a major event.
He confirmed his presence at the closing ceremony of the tournament.
Ramadan’s appointment as an ambassador for CAF highlights the growing intersection between sports and entertainment, as well as the global appeal of African football.
This move is expected to further promote the spirit of unity and collaboration across the African continent, as Ramadan’s popularity transcends borders and reaches diverse audiences.
As CAF continues its efforts to expand its reach and engage with a wider audience, the appointment of Mohamed Ramadan signifies a strategic move to leverage the influence of popular culture icons in promoting football and fostering a sense of belonging among fans across Africa.
