Morocco head coach Mohammed Ouahbi has insisted that his side will continue to evolve tactically despite extending their impressive run of results ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Following another victory, Ouahbi expressed satisfaction with both the outcome and the physical condition of his squad, while making it clear that success does not mean the team will remain unchanged in its approach.

Room for Improvement

Speaking during the post-match press conference, the Moroccan coach welcomed the result but stressed that there is still work to be done before the World Cup begins.

“We are satisfied because there are no injuries, and because we won the match. However, that does not mean we will always play in the same way.”

Ouahbi acknowledged that certain aspects of the team’s performances still require attention as preparations continue for the tournament.

“There are some adjustments that need to be made and things that need to be corrected. The goal is to be ready by June 13, God willing, against Brazil.”

Squad Rotation at the Core of His Philosophy

The Morocco coach also underlined the importance of maintaining competition throughout the squad, emphasising that every player has a role to play regardless of whether they start matches or come off the bench.

According to Ouahbi, there is no fixed hierarchy within the group, with all players expected to be ready whenever called upon. He believes this collective mindset is essential as Morocco prepares for the challenges of the World Cup.

The approach has helped create a strong sense of unity within the squad while ensuring that the coaching staff has multiple options available across every position.

Building Momentum Before the World Cup

Morocco’s latest victory marked the team’s third consecutive win under Ouahbi, further highlighting the progress being made under his leadership.

As the Atlas Lions continue their preparations, the coach’s tactical ideas appear to be taking shape through improved organisation, consistency and efficiency on the pitch.

With the World Cup fast approaching, Morocco will be hoping that the momentum generated during this winning run can carry over onto the global stage when they begin their campaign against Brazil.
